POE's First ever Review: Austinlive.com - Thanks Ali! "How many people & instruments can you put on a Steamboat stage without it collapsing? Six people, stacks, kits, amps, drums, keys, and there was plenty of room to spare. Shadow Box started their set with grooooooove. Worldly beats with soaring vocals set a tone of calm serenity with rockin' drums. Sounds a bit contradictory, but it sounded GOOD! The second song of the evening, "Dos Parejas," held me entranced. Such a pretty voice courtesy of Laura Giammona backed only by single acoustic notes from Anuj Timblo, and here comes Omar Lopez on violin, painting an even more elaborate picture than the one I had already mentally formed. A wireless violinist dancing among the crowd was a sight to be seen! "Brothers In War," about the war between Pakistan and India, was VERY moving.
